| Dear Teacher, "Plastic Bags Collection Drive Cum Competition" The Orchid - An Ecotel Hotel intends to help the BMC in their noble aim to cleanse Mumbai of plastic bags. As responsible corporate citizens, we at the Orchid are trying to do our bit by organizing this drive. However good our intentions may be, they are unlikely to bear any fruit without your valuable support; as all these movements are of the people, by the people and for the people. You and your teaching fraternity are doing a very vital job of shaping our collective destinies; those of our world, our country and our city. We solicit your help in these endeavor clean the city and improve the basic living standards of our immediate neighbourhood and our city. We request to take on this task with a missionary zeal and help us collect at least 50 grams per child. To make this entire exercise fun we have introduced an element of competition. Mumbai will be divided into four zones and one school from each zone stands to win attendance at a special felicitation dinner with 50 students. The winning criterion is the highest average weight of plastic bags collected per child to give all schools and even playing field. There are individual incentives for collecting bags too. The top 100 collectors from every school will receive a special cloth bag a gift. The rules are separately explained in the sheet attached. Owing to the enormity of the problem and shortage of time we request you to kindly let us have your consent latest by Friday 15th of September 2000.
