• Hospitality India presented The Orchid with the award for "Best Environment Friendly Hotel" for the year 2005. This award was given away by Shri Lt. Gen T.P. S Rawat, Hon'ble Minister for Tourism, Uttaranchal. The award accepted by Ms Delyse Braganza, Vice President, Sales and Marketing on behalf of The Orchid in New Delhi.
• United States Asia Environmental Partnership presented to the Orchid the "Environmental Leadership Award" in October 2005. This award recognizes outstanding contributions made through working in partnership to improve the environment and quality of life for the people of Asia.
• "Best Traffic Island" for the year 2005-06 by The National Society of the Friends of Tree for Ambedkar Garden at Madam Cama Road maintained by The Orchid.
• The Sion Garden at Rani Laxmibai Chowk was judged as the second prize winner under the category of "Best Maintained Public Park" by The Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai and Tree Authority for the year 2005-2006.
• The Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai and Tree Authority for the year 2005-2006 judged the garden opposite Ganga Jamuna theatre at Tardeo maintained b the Orchid as the second prize winner under the category of "Best Traffic Island".
• Our Babulnath Garden was the second prize winner under the "Traffic & Divider garden" category by the The Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai and Tree Authority for the year 2005-2006.
• The Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai and Tree Authority awarded our "Bandra Fire Birgade" Garden second prize under their category of " Best Garden maintained for Government" for the year 2005-2006.
• Our Ambedkar Garden again bagged the first prize under the category of "Best Traffic Island - Category A" by The Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai and Tree Authority for the year 2005-06.
• First Choice Responsible Tourism Awards 2006 awarded The Orchid as "The Best Large Hotel" in its "more than 50 rooms" category. We won the award for "for providing a responsible tourism model for other business hotels to follow." The award was presented to Mr Vithal Kamat, Executive Chairman and Managing Director, and Mr K. P. Kannampilly, Director, The Orchid at the World Travel Market 2006.
• We were also awarded the "Best Environmentally Responsible Individual Hotel" by The British Travel Awards 2006. The award was accepted by Ms Delyse Braganza, Vice President, Sales and Marketing on behalf of The Orchid in London. |
