Every supplier known fondly as Partners of the Orchid is briefed about our environmental policy before being placed on the list of panel of suppliers. We have also initiated a green forum, wherein we plan to support their Eco-friendly initiatives by providing them with guidance and support in order to make their practices environmentally friendly as well.
Every year we have a Partner's Meet which focuses on news and views from people specializing in the field as they speak on subjects ranging from quality, environment, standards, delivery schedules and of course suggestions from our partners. Till date with help of our partners we have reduced packaging by 48%.
Also as an added an incentive, The Orchid, has instituted 3 awards for the Partner's:

When we started there were no local suppliers either manufacturing or trading in eco-friendly products. Today with our persistence in educating suppliers we have built a strong supply chain for eco-friendly products which has blossomed into a full-fledged industry with The Orchid having 500 dedicated suppliers.
In a bid to make our partners' more eco-friendly we have also published a book, "Environmental Practices towards a Greener Tomorrow" which identifies various operational methods to reduce the strain our natural resources. We are now in the process of auditing our various suppliers on their environment impacts. |
