There are several breath-taking treks to some of the most historically significant forts, reminiscent of the great Maratha Empire. Shivneri Fort Trek
Shivneri Fort is one of the most scenic forts in the country and it doubles as a trekking destination. The entrance to this fort is through a triangular hill that you will have to traverse to reach the very top. There is also an option to enter through a chain gate where you will have to use the chains available to reach the fort gate and it makes for a mesmeric experience. This trek is located about 94 kilometres from our hotel and is considered to be one of the easier treks in Pune.
Rajmachi Trek
Rajmachi Trek is another popular trekking destination that is frequented by beginners, as well as experienced hikers from all across India. Monsoon is the best season to take a trek across this trail as you can get to view the verdant landscape along with the Shivardhan and the Manaranjan Forts. Take a break from your mundane lifestyle and traverse this 16-kilometre trek that is located about 100 kilometres from our hotel and has an average travel time of two and a half hours. This trek is classified as a medium level trek and ideal for more experienced trekkers.
Vasota Fort Trek
Vasota Fort is located close at an altitude of 1200 metres above sea level and is located near Bamnoli Village. This fort is surrounded by lush green forests and the beautiful valleys of the Konya Wildlife Sanctuary. This trail passes through steep hills and is a popular and famous trekking trail in Maharashtra. In addition to trekking, there are also rock climbing and mountaineering areas that offer captivating views of the surroundings. It takes about one day to complete this whole trail, but if you are hiking from nearby destinations such as the Nageshwar cave, then the hike will take about 2 hours. Take a trip to this hiking trail which is located about 140 kilometres from our hotel and has an average travel time of three hours.
Raigad Fort Trek
Raigad Fort Trek is located at an altitude of 4200 feet above sea level. It is known to be one of the easier treks in all of Maharashtra. Rajgad was the capital of the Maratha Empire during the reign of Shivaji Maharaj. This trek can be covered in about two hours and you can take in the many sights of Maratha Heritage and the natural beauty of the surroundings during your trek to the fort. This fort is located about 120 kilometres from our hotel and has an average travel time of three and a half hours.
Korigad Fort Trek
The Korigad Fort’s construction is not exactly known, but it is said to predate the 1500s. This fort is located about 930 metres above sea level and makes for a splendid hike. It takes about an hour to hike your way to the Korigad Fort where you can enjoy spectacular views of the surrounding villages and hamlets. This trekking trail is located about 80 kilometres from our hotel and has an average travel time of one hour and forty-five minutes.
