Shaniwar Wada
A prominent historical landmark in Pune, this majestic fortification was erected in 1732 and was the seat of the Peshwas who ruled the Maratha Empire until most of the fort was razed by the British in 1828. While the remnants have been transformed into a tourist site, common folklore suggests that the fort is haunted due to the tragic history of Peshwa Bajirao within these walls.
